OMCT

Whilst at my previous agency (the excellent Mud) I had the privilege of working for a number of NGOs who make real tangible differences to our world. One of the most impactful pieces produced was the aesthetic revamp and digital identity of OMCT - an organisation that highlights the plight of those tortured.

At the heart of the new look and feel was the concept of escaping darkness, both literally and metaphorically. The images needed to convey both the seriousness of those trapped but also the hope to escape both physical and mental torture.

The concept continued to run through into the typographic approach; using stacked lettering, the middle/lower block would always "escape" from the confines it's text box.

As a predominately editorial site, great care was taken to find legible and accessible typefaces. These fonts, paired with the cinematic imagery and chunky lead type, allowed OMCT to communicate their message consistently and effectively.
